I built this bed from lumber
cut when the house in Coulterville was built. I’ve been
meaning to draw up the plans ever since and it finally
bubbled to the top of my pile. There’s nothing complicated
about it really, simple mortise & tenon frames with
tongue and groove panels. Drop a nice Futon mattress over
the slats and sleep away.
The headboard near completion. The tongue and groove planks
have been pre-finished to avoid them getting sorta-glued by
several coats.
Footboard after the several coats of oil/varnish.
Completed bed in use in the Coulterville house.
Completed bed several years later in Qualicum Beach.
