Kitchen Appliances, Doors, Snow

Wednesday arrived but no flooring got done because Mike H. has broken his foot. This gets in the way quite a bit, not to mention hurting. So, instead I got Bill to drive up with me to collect the two main-floor door units from Island TImberFrame. When we started out there was a little snow on the ground and apparently none at Cumberland. By the time we got to Union Bay it was almost white-out conditions. Sigh. We quickly loaded up the two doors and made our way back south - and by Union Bay or thereabouts there was no snow. Once the doors were safely in the house I quickly gave them a coat of stain to protect them from mucky fingerprints during installation.

Thursday mostly involved a trip to Nanaimo to pay in some money and get the Subaru serviced. It was actually nice to take a break from the hustle. I did end up doing a load of work in the evening though as the plumber called while I was out, wanting to get access to make a list of supplies needed to complete the plumbing. Since the proposal was to do at least some of the completion on Friday I had to rush to build the cabinet carcass for the laundry sink and the counter-top for it. Perhaps fortunately a blast of snow around Courtenay kept them from actually making the trip and I was able to continue the work on Friday.

On saturday there was excitement as the kitchen appliances got delivered.
