Wherever you hang your hat...

A G+ post by architect michael huber some time back highlighted a neat ‘tree’ coat stand. I told him I might build a similar construction out of the plumbing fittings that I’ve previously used for the towel rails etc - and here it is. Not quite a tree as I originally thought but simple and effective and economical -

I also made a little time for another small project and made a frame for a mirror some friends donated. It’s a big one - 5ft x 3ft - and concomitantly heavy. I used some left-over rough cut Cedar from the out door trim work done last year, cut so that all the outer surfaces are rough. Because of the weight I had to attach some substantial French Cleats to the wall studs and frame. It all turned out rather nicely.
