Back on the net

We got our net connection back today after (obviously) be disconnected at the end of moving day. There was some fun with making the connection and big specialised ladder trucks to string long cables from the power pole to the street connection but at the end of it all were connected to reality again and upgraded to a shiny 15Mbit/sec link. Zoooooommmmm.

Since the move we’ve been busy organising, building pantry shelving so that we can empty kitchen related boxes and make floorspace in the kitchen and generally expanding into the house. I had a lot of fun (for an interesting and unusual definition of the word ‘fun’) cutting a hole and installing duct for the cooker hood. I had to make the duct from the fan to the outlet from scratch, a form of metalworking I hadn’t done since 1981...
